Here's the story . . .
I've been doing this thing I'm calling "tabla poetry" for a little while now. What it is is putting English words to the rhythms of tabla compositions. Sometimes I have found it difficult to explain the concept to people who don't play Indian Classical music. Anyways I finally I made a video to show just what the heck I am talking about, and I thought that some of you might enjoy it.
First there is a simple gat and then an English poem set to the melody and rhythm of the gat. The tabla bol-s and English words can be found in my profile photo.
